The Center is a nonprofit, fee-for-service research
organization which addresses social, economic, and
resource-based problems of rural people and communities.
The Center provides consulting and research services
in Vermont, the United States, and abroad. The research
interests of CRS include: Agriculture, Human Services,
Economic Development, Energy, and Environment/Natural
Resources.
Community
and Rural Development Institute (CaRDI), Cornell
() CaRDI coordinates Cornell research, extension and
teaching in five broad areas: Community Development,
Economic Development, Environmental Management, Human
Services, and Local Governance & Leadership. The mission
is to link professionals and elected officials in the
state of New York who share a concern for community

Justice Institute at Alfred University is committed
to helping improve the lives of rural residents by
encouraging scholarly research, collaboration between
social service agencies, and effective outreach by
members of the AU community.

Policy Research Institute (RUPRI), a collaboration
of Iowa State University, the University of Missouri,
and the University of Nebraska
RUPRI conducts policy-relevant research and facilitates
public dialogue to assist policymakers in understanding
the rural impacts of public policies and programs.
